New to airstream

We're about to embark on our first trailer experience and are leaning towards an airstream with a slide. Do any of the relatively late models or new units with slides have a rear living area?

Howdy and welcome to Airforums.com, jetjockey! Hang in there, we have a considerable group of knowledgeable people here that have the slide-out version, in its various layouts.

If you get bored waiting for them (it IS the camping season, after all ) try the search function. Look up to the top dark blue bar and click search; you'll see there are many variations on how you can use it.

A lot of people like the Google version, due to its speed.

Good luck on your search for a trailer!

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

As to your question, Airstream did make some slide-out (SO) units in recent years. I believe they were mainly in the 28 and 34 footers. I think they they all had front living areas with the SO on the front end of the trailer.

Airstream SO's were quite heavy and added a significant amount of tongue weight. Also, the Airstream SO's are relatively shallow, adding only about a foot to the living space.

I'm sure that some of our SO members will chime in with further information.

Brian

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

The slides are no longer in the AS catalog, I believe all older models were rear bed's.

How are things on Chaut Lake?

Good luck in your search!!
