Just Bought Our First Airstream

My wife and I just picked up our first Airstream, purchased from a member of this forum. We've talked about one for years but it always seemed down on the list of other more essential things that we needed. Some years ago we saw a Bambi and my wife was convinced that it was the trailer for us. We have no children but do have a dog. After a recent camping trip for which we used our van as a camper, we talked about a small Airstream on the way home. In five minutes on the computer I found the ad for our trailer, a 2010 Sport 16.

We had a few problems sorting out an appropriate hitch but after a bit of running around town for hitch parts and struggling in the rain to get the correct ball on it we were off and towing. The trailer towed great and we got home with no problems.

Despite the rain I washed it as soon as we got it home. Having bought a number of old motorcycles over the years I've found that washing and polishing is the best way to become familiar with a new piece of equipment. Besides, the road grime from the trip in the rain had to go.

At any rate, I will likely be spending a lot more time on this forum after I've gone through the provided owner's manuals and DVD's. Our first camping trip with it is right around the corner.

So exciting! We just wrapped up our first camping season with our Airstream, so that feeling of bringing it home for the first time is still very fresh for me. I hope you have as much fun in yours as we have!
