Hello, new guy from Dallas Texas area.
Hello everyone.
My name is Rich.
My wife , Tracy, and I are considering purchasing an Airstream.
Maybe a newer one, but I would prefer an older one we could restore together.
Looking forward to reading up on Airstreams here on the forum.
Thanks
Rich

Greetings, Rich, and welcome to the forums! You find loads of information here on Airstreams, both new and vintage. You'll also find a pretty good dose of partiality towards vintage. And, of course, all will agree that 1967 was the year of years for all Airstreams ever built! (In case the facetiousness doesn't leak through, we have a 67.)
Again, welcome to the forums!
Lynn

HI RICH (I feel every addition meeting should start this way )
I am in North Dallas and if there is anything I can do to help, just ask.

Howdy and welcome to airforums.com, Rich! Whatever the question is that you can ask, this is the place most likely to have the right answer.

Here's a crazy thought on your statement above: wouldn't it be more fun travelling to new horizons with your love, seeing each dawn with her as if you were the first to do so, rather than ripping apart a rusty old trailer for months on end?
I wonder how your wife would feel about that question...?
Whatever way you go, we're here to support you!

I bet a poll asking "What year is the best" would make for some good reading.
There has probably been a few of them here.
And it is one of the question I would like to figure out myself.

The wife and I are kinda odd, so I really don't know which way we will go.

Thanks, if you run across a really well priced trailer, tell me where its at.
Are there many people from the Dallas area here on the forum ?

Hello Rich. I am from Allen, TX. I second Aage's suggestion. If you want a project buy a project. If you want to travel with your wife buy a trailer, new or old, ready to go.
My experience. I bought a project. It has turned out to be way more than I could have imaginged. I have enjoyed my project but it has been several years, thousands of dollars and the end it not in sight for time or money. My wife and I have not taken any trips in the trailer (its not road ready).
Hope you find what you want.

We were up in Texas two weeks ago when we decided to buy an Airstream instead of building a cabin for our place in Colorado. I just closed the deal on a new one yesterday in Katy, but was also talking to a real helpful sales guy in Ft. Worth, if you are looking for a contact there.

That's funny, were going to Colorado here in a month or so.
If we buy a ready to go trailer we will be taking it.
Did you get yours from that huge RV place in Ft. Worth called PP&L ?
