Door within a door

Hi Jon -

We have a door within a door on our '60 Caravel and LOVE it. You can open up the outer door and still have a screen door to let a breeze through.

Check out this thread - there is a link to a pic of the door opened up so you can see the screen.

Okay the placard near the door has this number: S126410228
The numbers below the amber lights on the front is: 10642

The number 64 jumps out at me...so I am guessing that is important. By the way my wife corrected me as well. She said "he said it was a 64 not a 68!" Further proof that she is smarter than me.

On that one you can tell with out a vin; 64 was the last year for door in a door, but also the first year they went from 7 panels to 5. So door in door and 5 panel...64. Thats good for me maybe I can learn more about mine as you tear into yours! good luck!

JFerguson, the numbers under the amber lights in the front, are the WBCCI membership numbers of a former owner. Wally Byam Caravan Club International. It's one of the clubs for owners of Airstream trailers.
Many people here on the FORUMS, attend informal airforums rallies. There is a rally at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, April 8-11. It is open to anyone attending in any type of trailer. There is usually an open house to tour the trailers on Saturday afternoon.
Hope you can make it to a future rally.
