Hi fellow 16 Bambi owner. My husband and I bought our 16 Bambi one year ago this May. We live in New York. We have been to Maine and back. Then out to the Dakotas and further to California and back again. And then this past two weeks we went south to Kentucky then Tennessee and back up to New York again. So with three trips under our belts we are just living our airstream!! You will too. It's just the right size. It is easy to pull and fits into snug campsites that the larger rigs just can't get into. So there are some nice campgrounds available to us that others can't use. Check out the upgrades some of the airstreamers did to there trailers. There are great ideas from great people. Very helpful. We did some mods to the cute little closet. And we added two batteries. And we put a fan guard on the roof. And we added a power Jack stand and oh yea and we switched out the light bulbs for LEDs. Check out the Bambi section on this site for ideas. I've got pics on there showing our closet mods. Good luck with your new trailer. You will love it!!

Big Air......how was the trip to Yellowstone? It is one trip that's on our bucket list. How many days did it take and where did you camp along the way?

So we left New York- and we too were trying to get to Yellowstone as the BIG highlight of our trip. Always wanted to see it. We rushed across the country (do you know about the Walmart situation) we did three nights in walmarts and that got us to South Dakota. We did an overnight in the Badlands and saw Mount Rushmore. Then we did an over night at another Walmart in Wyoming. We drove over the Big Horn National Forest and came into Cody Wyoming the next night. Big Horn is spectacular and a wild ride. Twists and turns, crazy elevations and steep grades going down. But with the 16 sport those kind of drives are doable. But most don't. So research that one. Cody is right outside the East entrance of Yellowstone. We stayed at a reg KOA just outside the Badlands National Park South Dakota. And we stayed at a private campground in Cody, Pioneer something, which was terrible. Sites too close together- but it had showers and full hook ups and that's what counts after a few days at Walmart. For us it was important to get to Yellowstone before the flying bridge campground closed. It's the only full hook up campground in the park. We went in sept and they close in late sept. We made it by 3 days. We stayed at the campground for the last three days. It was great to be there. However temps at night were 28 degrees. But they all say air streams can handle it. Sept is the time to go it was great. Crowds were a lot less. Big diff from the summer craziness. Never go there in summer says EVERYONE. the best was after Yellowstone. We stayed in the Grand Tetons National Park. It's just south of Yellowstone. We stayed at Gros Verte campground in the park. Some sites had electric and we stayed there long enough to that we had to hitch up and go dump at the dump station and then go back to the site and set up again. No prob with the 16. Easy. And it was beautiful there. A family of moose walked past our trailer every morning. And if they didn't pass by ours then they were walking through someone else's. It was nice to walk over and see them each morning cup of coffee in hand. The mountains of the Grand Tetons will take your breath away. We were there around The first week of Oct.
BTW we don't make reservations for the most part. We just go where the wind takes us and stay as long as we want. When we get to places we really love we stay longer. And going off season allows us this privilege. Our trip went in to Cali and then Utah and then back home to NY. It was spectacular.
