Hello from North Georgia!

Hello everyone ! I live in north Georgia, My family owned a campground on Lake Hartwell, It was great property, just old hook-ups, low power, we closed after a few slow years, state park too close. We have recently sold the property. I am looking for a lot in the mountains near here, and a restorable Airstream. My family has owned many campers over the years includeing an Argosy which I lived in at different times. It towed and lived better than all the other brands. Its also hard to beat the style of an old airstream all polished and glowing golden inside!! I am interested in most anything mechanical, old cars, i have a 59 Ford I'd like to tow with, also a Struck Mini-Dozer, motorcycles, 4 wheel drive and ? I see alot of valuable information on here and appreciate everyones willingness to share ! Thanks for the oppertunity to join ya'll. Sincerely Duane

Welcome Duane, you are in a nice area of Georgia for sure. Good luck with your search for a vintage AS. Check out the classifieds here for some outstanding restored units and some ready to roll projects.
You're right about the knowledge base here. It is without equal.
Hope to see you on the road soon.

I'm sure I've seen Airstreams WITH lots for sale somewhere...check out Top of the Mountain A/S park...they may have a "For Sale" listing.

Why not step over to Fort Mountain State Park just east of Chatsworth during the weekend of April 21, 22, 23 and introduce yourself. There will be a number of us there for that weekend. There will be motorhomes, all kinds of travel trailers and some of the nicest folks you will ever meet. It might give you some additional ideas of what you might want to look for. There will be a potluck dinner Saturday night and I am thinking about bringing King Ranch Casserole, nice and spicey.

Welcome to the forum!

At our last forum/WBCCI rally in the NW we had a "drop in" who decided the best way to buy a trailer was to tour other people's trailers. He left having a very clear idea of what he wanted and he received an incredible dinner to boot. It was fun for all of us to share our restoration stories with someone new.

Welcome Duane. Good luck with your search. You might check with RichardT here on the forum up in Bat Cave NC. He has the uncanny talent for finding the neatest looking Airstreams and he just might have what you want in stock.
