Good Price?

Howdy fellow air streamers. I recently purchased a 1964 airstream Tradewind 24 foot. I'm having fun restoring it but I know it's going to take a while to get it road ready and take my family camping. So I'm looking at a 2005 Safari 30 LE bunk. I have looked over it thoroughly and even paid someone to look at it and it does not to seem to have any flaws. My question to you guys is $26,400 a good price for the travel trailer? Thanks in advance.
Norm
As I have read you guys like pictures so here's a picture of the 1964 tradewind.

I will respond. Sounds like a great price to me for a flawless 8 year old Airstream that I expect would cost over 70k new. But I really don't know. Did you check the NADA bluebook?

Thanks Dan. You mentioned the NADA. That's kind of why I started this thread. As I was getting the loan, the banker quoted NADA. The NADA only quoted $17,630. But what I'm finding one eBay and other places is that airstreams are priced well over NADA prices. Another bank that I tried seem to know a lot about RVs and was willing to loan quite a bit more and they said that they did so because it was tan Airstream. However it was at a little bit higher interest rate. does anyone else find this to be typical?

Price sounds appropriate if the condition matches your description. NADA is notoriously low for trailers in general and certainly for Airstreams; I think they use a formula rather than comparable pricing from dealer supplied sales information. Bankers that will loan a higher amount than NADA use the higher rate to offset the risk they believe they are taking. The downside, regardless of the bankers position, is what the insurance carrier uses for determining value. Unless you start with an agreed upon value and known depreciation rate, if it gets totaled you might find yourself facing a negative equity position. Be sure to ask your agent for home office information on valuation and I suggest in-writing.

SeeMore you are right on the money in regards to insurance. My agent said that they would use it NADA for replacement value. Since several of you agree that the price is good, the negative equity simply represents the risk that I'm willing to take to have a wonderful airstream. I believe I am going to move forward. Thanks for the insight from people who have been there before. I hope this conversation helps others.
I hope to post pictures soon.
