Bit the bullet

New to the forum as a member but have been soaking up the available knowledge as a guest for about a month. My wife and I have finally decided on and ordered a 2015 23D International Signature with Salsa. Retiring in July and looking forward to meeting the Airstream community. Pleased to meet you all.

Welcome! You are definitely going to learn what you need by reading the posts of the passionate Airstream owners who are on this site. If you have a question, just ask it, as plenty of us went through the new owner phase. One thing you'll enjoy is how your trailer lends itself to customization...and while you can surely enjoy it from the minute you pick it up, lots of us on here try to make it even better. I had a '12 28' Intl Signature CCD and loved it. All the models have something going for them!

Congrats! And welcome to the forum! And, BAB is just telling stories here. If you've been on the forum for any amount of time, one thing you know for certain is that NOBODY on here is passionate about their Airstream... I owned mine for almost a year before I even knew it was an Airstream. Sure, it looked a little different than everything else on the road.

Truthfully, you'd have to promote steroids on an all natural body building forum to find as passionate and heated conversations as what some get going on here. I prefer snarky comments over arguments, but to each his own...

Hope you enjoy your retirement and your new Airstream. I'm still 3 years and 8 months from retirement, but who's counting.

See you on the road sometime!

-Red, ramble on...

...from your "name" it's pretty obvious you were commanding "something" in the Airborne. The good news, is that you will continue hearing from the Army on the first of every month when DFAS delivers! Trust me, I've been retired from the Army since '88....though I managed a couple more careers. And I'll admit that my brand new Airstream is getting a lot of attention as I dismantle it and install all the good stuff!

BAB, I retired from the Army in 93. No command, spent my time as enlisted with Military Intel and SF. Twenty years and 20+ with the USPS. My wife and co-pilot of 35 years retired from USPS about a year ago. Time to live riveted.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

You're going to love Airstreaming. SuEllyn and I are both retired from US Customs and have been spending about half our time out in the Airstream for the past ten years.

Brian

Hi Airborne6 from Wisconsin. Nice to meet you. Wisconsin is such a beautiful state! It's a great destination in an Airstream.

I retired about 2 years ago. Our Airstream is the one my wife's folks traveled all over with during their retirement. We plan on doing the same in the same Airstream. It's only 29 years old. You new one will last 50 years anyway. I understand the factory is over booked so get prepared for a lengthy wait for your new one. But it will get here about the time you retire, and you folks will enjoy traveling in it. There is a lot to see and do just in Wisconsin.

In the mean time you can read up on all things Airstream in these forums.
