Awning Woes - Lucy has a blemish.

I purchased a FC 19' (2012). It will be living on my property for awhile for use as a studio. I am getting it set-up. I ran into a problem with the ZipDee awning - similar to postings prior threads. The rafter arm will not lock. I have watched the UTube Video and called Zip Dee/sent photos. After seeing other similar problems, this must not be new to Zip Dee. Unfortunately in trying to get the awning set-up solo it furled back into the awning case, swallowing the pull strap and the rafter arms slammed into the trailer, leaving small circular indentions in the as yet, unused trailer.
Has anyone else encountered and resolved this problem -- the set-up??

I've named the FC "Lucy" as I am not sure yet if the purchase was a great idea or a wild idea. EMMM.

Is this description different slightly than in the other thread? This description sounds like the ratchet stud pin is broken off. Take a wrench to the body of the ratchet stud and remove it. There should be a pin protruding from the bottom of the body which engages into slots in the rafter arm rod.
