1st Post - Hello from new Cutter owner

Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself and also say how glad I am to have found this site - what a loyal and knowledgable bunch of adventurers!.

I have been out of the RV world for about 15 years - drove a 34' Foretravel all over the country of Mexico doing film productions for about two years. Those mountains and road surfaces destroyed both man and beast!

I am sure that this Airstream Cutter will be an even better workhorse. I leave in about three weeks to pick it up in Albany, NY and plan on driving in back to Houston, TX with my 80 year old father as co-pilot/flight engineer.

I have one question: with all of the new web sites and online organizations out there, which ones are good? I would like to join something like the AAA for autos, that will give us some roadside assist if needed. Would sure appreciate hearing about any recommendations.

Welcome Tom. I think that you will find these Forums very valuable. If you are already an AAA membeer, they have an RV rider available. Check out the Good Sam Club's offering also.

Welcome to the forum. I echoes moosetages on good Sam's they have been good to us over the years. They are starting to get a little carried away with there mailings but the discounts on campsites and insurance are pretty good.

I personally find the Vintage Airstreams Pod cast at thevap.com a great resource. They have several episodes on picking your AS up that might be useful to you. I know the wife and I enjoy to listen to them on long car trips and over coffee on Saturday morning.
