I made it! (barely)
Just a quick update as I promised I'd let everyone know I made it home safe and sound with the Airstream. The trip went well and I couldn't have asked for better people to have purchased it from. Tom & Susan were amazing! They included EVERYTHING from flashlight to a new Coleman camping BBQ. They had the trailer all set up in a beautiful campground in Holland, Mich. and went through everything from set-up to take-down and provided me with every document, manual and receipt the trailer had ever seen. These people were totally meticulous and thoughtful - a buyer's dream come true. They had even phoned a couple times on the trip home to make sure all was well and that I was safe and sound.
The trailer was in such good shape I jokingly asked them if they had ever used the trailer for camping?! It was hard to see that they had taken it for a lengthy trip into eastern Canada at one point. I really couldn't believe how well taken care of it was and I'm proud to be the new owner - I look forward to treating it as well as the previous owners.
The USA portion was beautiful and I only wish I had more time to enjoy. We made it there in 2 days and back to Saskatoon on the 4th day (4am) totally exhausted and burned out.
Well, my wife and I have been acquanting ourselves with our new Safari and I'm sure we'll have plenty of questions. I'm including a photo or two for anybody who's interested. The truck never skipped a beat the whole trip and I'm not so sure it even knew the trailer was behind us on the way home.
Wish us luck...we have a few camping trips ahead this August.

And yes..once I have a few minutes, I will get some inside photos for anyone who's interested. Unfortunately I burned up my 6 days off so I'm back to work. I still have to figure our how this bloody trailer works before we go camping!

Hey figure out the trailer by camping in the driveway once or twice and then its off to adventure. Some things will go great and some won't. Just have fun with it.

Best of Luck - it's a BEAUTY (but then again, they ALL are!!!)
Isn't it aggravating how work gets in the way of camping in your AS???

Congrarutations on your new baby. We're glad to here that you got her home safely. There is a learning curve to Airstreaming, and the only way to deal with is to go camping.

I agree with camping in the driveway and learning all you can then going out further to camp. Enjoy your newest family member.

nice looking unit!
driveway camping is a good way to figure out how everything works.
do yourself a huge favor and install a proper 30 amp outlet so you can make full use of your shore power. you will find that the trailer makes great accomodations for guests.
however, you may find it is better to let your guests stay in the house and keep the trailer for yourself!

Thanks for everyone's support, input and advice up until now. I don't mean this to sound arrogant but once we started looking into RV'ing and the more we investigated TT's, the more obvious it was that AS is the only real choice. It was a large investement but one I feel good about. It was just a matter of time before we found the right floor plan and the right place to buy. I believe I got a fair price and a superb product - what more could I ask for?
We've been hanging out in the front drive way and have a few small trips planned close to home just to test the waters. Beer tastes so much better in the AS than in the house for some reason. Is this a natural phenomenon?We're also going to try a non-electrical sight just to get the hang of it but in this 100F weather, the A/C will be a must-have.
We're heading off for a week long excursion to the Rockies in late August so I want to be comfortable with all the systems before then. So far the manuals are limited as far as instructions so I'll be poking around here as much as possible as it has been a great resource thus far.
