I think a new 68 corvette was almost double that , you got a heck of a deal.

Here is the window sticker for my 2005. This was the MSRP. Much cheaper with my 29% discount! It sat on the lot for a year and they were anxious to sell it.

All this and polyester carpet, too!
Here's a PDF of the 1974 price list. It shows that my TT started off at US$10,910 plus plus plus.
Some of the option prices seem really low (outside floodlight: $6.25) through today's eyes, while others (built in stereo system with 8-track and four speakers $377.50), given the costs of superior technology today, seem crazy high to me.
And unless I'm reading it wrong, some things are listed as standard equipment, AND they appear in the options, such as the entrance light.

On my window sticker from 76 it was $13,115.00 base, $14,528.13 after all options (which there were not many of). Does anyone else's sticker also mention "including $10.00 contribution to Wally Byam Foundation"?

What was the original price for your vintage AS
I don't have the original invoices or "window stickers', but I clearly remember the splash that was started when our friends related the price that they paid for the 1964 Overlander that I now own when it was new. The cash price paid was $6,000 . . . and they later told my aunt that it was almost $800 more than what they paid for their 10' x 60' mobile home that they had purchased new the year before.
When I purchased my 1978 Minuet 6.0 Metre from the original owner, he advised me that his cash price for the trailer including hitch rigging and setting up his 1978 Ford LTD to tow the trailer was $6,000.

I believe the Original Purchase Price of my '82 34' Limited was in the $40K range.
