I am new to this forum (second day) and I need some advice.
I am in Fl. (not my home) and on a walk I found a 1969 Caravelle that has been sitting for two years in a storage area. I contacted the owner he said his family has no interest and he wants to get rid of it before Jan because the rent is do on the storage space.

What is it worth? Bottom line.

What damages or issues does the trailer have?

Since they don't care, offer maybe a thousand dollars and go from there.

One thing almost certain. the trailer will need an axle, since it has been parked for a long time, plus torsion axles just don't last 43 years.

Welcome to the forum, and the Caravelle is like anything else used, worth whatever someone will give for it. Not try to be a smarty, but it all depends on condition.

I've seen them go for a few thousand, and I've seen people ask 30+ thousand for a really nice restored trailer.

Don't fall for that price level you see folks asking for their "prize" Airstream. You can find those "bottom fishers" anywhere. What condition is it in? Talk with the owners...walk around the trailer and discuss it. Be knowledgable yourself.....don't be someone who dives in and then discovers the real price of a corner window in a 69 Airstream, the price to repair on panel, the floor rot and system costs....and MOST IMPORTANTLY the error of gutting it for your dream build.....then finding out that it is expensive and time consuming, so you try to sell it. A 69 Caravel is a gem. I hope you get it and do it justice.
