Looking to purchase '68 Ambassador --- advice requested

Hello,

Our goal is to buy an old Airstream (any size basically up to 28ft; it's just the two of us) that is in working condition as we want to take it camping right away. If it's restored/renovated, great. If not, we can live with it and update/upgrade as we go along.
We are looking to stay under $10,000 so my guess is that we won't find a renovated one for this amount.

We found a '68 Ambassador for sale, here in Austin Texas.
The owner is asking $7,750 for it and I'm basically trying to determine if this is a good deal or if I should pass on this opportunity and wait for a better one to come along.

I just came back from seeing it and took a bunch of pictures with my phone.
Pictures are here:

Unfortunately, the owner didn't have it plugged in so I couldn't test any of the systems.

What do you think? Any word of advice?

Thanks,

Jorn
