Question on Fasteners

I have been reading about metal nobility and corrosion. Now after owning my Airstream for a few years, messing with it by replacing parts, checking for leaks, etc., I am wondering about fastener replacement. Airstream used steel screws in several places to attach items in addition to the panel rivets. These screws on my rig in most cases are rusted- even rotted under the rub rail trim piece.

BEFORE reading about nobility I replaced those screws with stainless screws. Now I am questioning my action. I am interested in getting some opinions from those who may have used stainless steel fasteners and have had them applied for some time. My concern is galvanic corrosion.

I did find a write-up about the two metals together:

Stainless steel fasteners in aluminium plates or sheets are normally considered safe, whereas aluminium rivets or bolts holding stainless steel parts together is an unwise combination, as there is a practical risk of corrosion.

An example of the safe use of stainless steel and aluminium together is where stainless steel fasteners and hold down bolts are used to secure aluminium roadway or bridge parapet guards.
Even with no insulation between the metals, there should be little risk of corrosion.

Any thoughts on this relating to Airstreams?
