White paint is probably not going to be an issue. Silver paint contains aluminum particles and should be avoided, as it might interfere with reception.

Use a white paint formulated for plastics (all the major brands of spray paint have them.) AS mentioned above, I wouldn't expect while to have much metallic content so it shouldn't make reception worse. The usual spray-paint caveats... clean surfaces, mask everything you don't want misted with paint and use multiple thin coats with drying time in between.

Bummer, I was really wanting to match the silver of the Avenue. Guess the color will go back to original white.

I have the Sole' off the roof so that makes it easy to prep and paint. On the Avenue it rides on the ventilated cowl above the recessed a/c. I removed the cowl in anticipation of replacing the a/c http://www.airforums.com/forums/f427...ml#post2139628 and the antenna is attached by an easily removed bolt through the cowl.
If you want the antenna to "blend in" more you could do a light-gray non-metallic spray paint instead of white. I just picked white because it's already that color and you want to avoid metallic colors, but a light gray that's close in value to the silver of the Avenue should help camouflage the antenna.

At the height and distance from the ground, a light gray probably would do. Have to look at what Krylon has available in their plastic spray colors. Thanks
