WD hitch for a 1986 Avion 34w

Recently purchased a 1986 Avion 34w silver edition. TV is 2019 f350 4wd with power stroke, so sits pretty high. I’ll most likely need around 8” drop on the hitch as the top of the trailer coupler is only 19.5”. Trailers Gvwr is 9500 lbs. Thanks for any info, jtholland

We have a blue OX system. Tow with a ram 2500 and have a classic 30. Full timing for a year and haven’t thought twice about our decision. Decent drop on the ball too.

10k weight on the new classics. I’m sure you will get a ton of opinions with a post like this as people all have their own opinion on TV and WD hitch

Thanks. What bars did you go with, and is that a 10 hole drop?

10 hole drop. It was the largest they had and it works perfect. Truck is stock height and both truck and trailer are riding perfectly level. I think the blue OX may also be the heaviest one they had. Airstream included it when I bought the trailer.

I had been studying the blue ox system and ordered one yesterday. I got a BXW1006 Sway Pro w/11 hole shank, and had to get the BXW4012 underslung hitch head as the Avion has the coupler welded on the bottom of the tongue. Talked with Steve Denker at Blue Ox. Thanks for the info. JT
