Windshield wiper module
Our 1992 350LE Airstream motor home has developed windshield wiper control module problems. I ordered a part that Airstream recommended to replace the original. Problem: The original module has 8 wires and the new one has only 6. No one seems to have a wiring diagram to change the module.
Has anyone had a similar problem or does anyone know how to replace the old unit with a CONTROL MODULE #500989-100 double motor?

What color wires did the original 8 wire module use and what color wires do the 6 wire new module have? I have a 350 too and the wipers are off, intermittent, low, and high. Seems to me that 6 wires would be enough to operate that way.

windshield wiper module
Thanks for your reply.
My original problem was that the windshield wipers would not park and turn off when I cut off the switch. Or the wipers would come on without turning on the switch. I had to pull the fuse.
The old unit 66D-00078 wires are orange, gray, red, green, blue, pink, brown, black.
The new unit 66D-00077 wire colors are black, red, blue, green, gray, and brown. [Airstream CONTROL MODULE number is #500989-100 THIS IS FOR A DOUBLE MOTOR.]
Since I posted this request, I was able to find a wiring diagram for the new unit from the manufacturer. This diagram solves half the problem. Now, to make sure I rewire it correctly, I need to find what the old unit wires control. The unit I purchased may be the only one that anyone could ever find. I don't want to make any incorrect changes.

Mike
Would be glad to share my wiring diagram on the module. Send me your email.
1969fowler@gmail.com and I will forward it to you.
I still have not solved my problem. Maybe together we can get these demons on their way.

I could not find the control board, so wired in a new switch with all functions except delay intermitent and keeping both motors in sink while running. The park function still works. Con tact AM Equipment in OR -Phone 541-327-1546 and for sure they can be of help. The switch with freight was arround $20.00. They were of great help!

The original module is no longer available but there is a replacement for it from Rostra Prevision Controls. I have attached the drawings for the original module & the replacement. The original is shown on drawing #66D0078 & the replacement is on drawing #66D0077. This part can be purchased from any certified Airstream dealer by ordering part #500989-100.
However, it is much cheaper to buy it direct from the company who took ove the licence from DANA. I bought direct from them and it worked fine and its the same part an Airstream dealer will supply. Look up the part number of the drawings and google it and that might tell you the manufacturer.
The transition between intermittent wipes i.e. if you set the wipers to go every five seconds wasn't so good as the original i.e. it was a bit binary; on or off, but hey - your wipers work!
I'll hunt around and see if I can find the reciept from where I bought it. The install is a bit of a pain because you have to drop the dash and the wiper module is tucked right at the back. It's a black box about 5" x 2" inches. Pull it out, rewire and you'll be in business. From memory, the wiring diagram was a bit rubbish, but we got there in the end.

windshield wiper control module
If you have a diagram of the 66D0078, which is my original control, I would really appreciate a copy. I was able to acquire a 66D0077 diagram. I did not know how to convert the wires from 9 to 6.
Colors on the 78 do not correspond with the colors on the 77. Every way I tried to wire it was unsuccessful. If you could tell me how you wired yours, I would be greatly appreciated.
