Had an Ebay Gift certificate from my son!
Today, I won what looks like an identical OEM steering wheel...
The seller quotes that is a "Formuling Wheel" made in France.
It has the correct 9 bolt fitting and whilst mine measures about 17", and the seller quotes this as 16", I think it will work fine..

Steve, any idea where a guy could find the Airstream horn button? Mine is aftermarket, almost the only unoriginal thing on this 24' Excella. I must have one!

Brad, I will look around here, maybe get lucky. Or, maybe there is something else from my '79 you would like. I am sort of restoring, and some things are going. Possibly a gaucho bed, the big mirror from bathroom, spice rack, original 110v vac.,original RM100 refer woodgrain panels. Cash?

Picked up a few things for the Argosy today.

The Argosy has antiquated rear drum brakes instead of those fancy disc brakes that the later coaches have so finding replacement parts can be interesting at times. While rebuilding the rear brakes I found that there are supposed to be three plugs on the back of the backing plate. One is for the brake adjuster opening and the other two are there to provide a view port so you can peak at the brake lining thickness. Well most of the plugs were missing so I went to ebay and found these. I even have five extras for future maintenance activities



Next is a piece of 3/16" steel plate that I had bent to form a channel. I found after installing the new electric steps that there wasn't quite enough support across the front so whenever you stepped in or out of the coach you could feel the steps sag down a little. I knew it shouldn't be like that because I had just finish installing the same steps on the 310 and they were rock solid. So I will be placing the channel across the front of the steps and bolting everything together. Hopefully that will solve the problem.



Last is a piece of 1/8" aluminum plate that will be turned into a dash face. I'm going to be installing the same style of gauges that are used in the 310s and 345s. I like the look of them, found a great deal on a set and I really didn't like the instrument cluster/dash that came in the Argosy originally. Hopefully this will spruce things up a little bit

Chris, probably the only thing I would want would be an Argosy horn button. Unfortunately I'm almost certain that none of the Argosy motorhomes came with anything but a stock Chevy steering wheel and horn button. I salvaged the steering wheel (needs recovering), horn button and steering wheel adapter from the 345 that I dismantled. I'm going to be installing those pieces in the Argosy.

According to what Steve found out the Classics used a Forumling steering wheel. Grant steering wheels are very similar and I'm taking a guess here but I'm betting the Grant horn buttons will work with a Formuling steering wheel. Grant horn buttons should be easier to find. Any modern sign shop could likely make an emblem that would match the original Airstream horn button style. Heck I might even look into doing something similar to make an Argosy horn button.

Something to consider.

A quick search on ebay came up with these two possible choices for horn buttons. They both are for 9 hole steering wheels.

The NuWave Induction cooking top is just made of plastic and cannot be mounted into the countertop... I picked the Eurodib not only because of cost but was the only 120vac unit that had 2 spots for cooking... the only downfall for this is that you can only add the two tops together to 10 heat level so if one is at 3 the other max is 7... Didn't think that it will be a problem as one will cook/boil while the other is simmer... If 220vac then choices are many

Richard, I could be wrong but if you convert your coach over to 50 amp 4-wire service you will have 220vac in your coach.

Might be worth checking into.

Very true BUT the cost on 220v units start at about $700 and go up... looked at a Wolf unit to match the house but was more than even I wanted to add to my costs... The Eurodib at around $225 is an excellent choice and flexible on use ... strong enough to mount into the counter top... highly recommended
