Well, bummer, need a Henschen 10 bolt hub

I fried a bearing and the hub on my tag last week. If anyone has a serviceable hub, I'd gratefully buy it!

Otherwise, looking for advice from anyone that has replaced with other options.

Thanks!

Kurt

Kurt,

If you can't locate a replacement hub there is a good chance that a good machine shop can repair your damaged hub. Most likely they would repair it by building up the bearing bore surface and then turning the surface back to the correct diameter on a lathe. I've seen hubs repaired this way before.

Good luck!

Brad

Brad,
That's a thought that I had as well. A long time ago I worked in a machine shop where we welded crankshafts all the time and thought about that same process here.

If anyone has had some experience with welding and machining a hub, I'd love to hear your experience.

Thanks much.
