Dash A/C challenging question
Ok guys, rebuilding/converting the A/C and found this valve on the low pressure side of the drier going back to the compressor. Can anyone tell me what it is and is it necessary for a 134a system? Other than being some sort of back flow preventer I haven't got a clue.

Follow up: talked to Austin Rebuilders (the local AC experts) and they said its a check valve that they omit, as they are no longer available. They also said its a great place for the system to leak. FYI....
