battery compartment hinge replacement

Well spring has sprung in Idaho. I went out to do some maintenance on our 86 345 today. In our MH the battery compartment is on the passenger side in front of the entry door. This compartment holds 3 batteries and is very heavy. When I slid the compartment out today the left hinge decided to "give it up", then the right hinge followed suit and the whole compartment and 3 batteries fell to the ground.

I have now taken everything apart for replacement and repair. My question is does anyone have a recomendation on new hinges? Should I just buy new heavy duty accuride hinges or is there something better out there?

Bumping this one up

Patrick, I was worried about the same thing happening to my battery tray. I found a similar slide to the original Accuride one but a little heavier. A pair of these are rated for 300 pounds load when used in a vibrating application like a motorhome. They have a 20 inch slide length which brings the tray out just like the original. There is some of "If a little bit is good, more is better" in me so I used two pair stacked vertically. The slides are available from McMaster-Carr Part Number 1102A66. McMaster-Carr is an industrial supply company but you can order off the web at McMaster-Carr using a credit card.

You will have to drill some new bolt holes. I made new brackets since I used two pair. Hope this helps,
