What does this do?

Please indulge me a naive question. I have been looking at an Argosy 28 but I know very little about them. Underneath the "copilot" window there is a vent. What does it do? Also, on the Driver's side underneath that window is an access panel. Since this is locked, I can't tell what is in there. Could anyone shed some light on that? I'm still curious about the fold down "couch/bed" in the middle. How are these for sleeping two?

Right hand side should be a vent, left hand side is the battery compartment.

That's wild - I don't think our 20' Argosy moho has either of these. I will have to look at the pics to see!

Edit: Nope. See below...

Susan,

Would it be the difference of his being 28 vs yours being a 20? I am not that familiar with these things. Just a thought.

That's what I was thinking, Steve, but I don't even know where our batteries are yet to be able to say what the difference is!

I was pretty sure it was a vent, but a vent to what?? I just can't picture the "copilot" needing a vent (on second thought, I've had some "copilots" that definitely needed a vent!!) (Oh, I hope she doesn't read this ).

If she does, you can sleep on our couch for a few nights...
Look to see if there is a pull-knob in the copilot area, it may be for that vent.

Alumatube, according to this floorplan, your batteries should be right in front.

Thanks, QuietWater! I have not been able to take the time to research this little beastie, so that is very helpful!

I have the 28'. the vent on the passenger side is for the battery charger and the access door on the driver side is the battery compartment which holds two batteries.

Under driver's window = battery compartment for AS (2 batteries), engine battery should be located elsewhere
Under passenger window = vent for "univolt" 110vac to 12vdc power converter
fold down bed = 2 lying longways & very close!) pull on the bottom of the bed toward the center of your MH...kinda folds like a futon.

Thanks Betsy28, That helps. Do you have the fold out couch/bed? If so, how does it work for two - or how do you use your MH for sleeping?

We have a fold out couch/bed behind the driver's seat...center split bath w/ twin bads in the rear. Since we "camp" w/ 2 kids, they get rear bedroom (they go to bed earlier than us) and we take the foldout. If it's just me or us two, we take the rear twins...any friends come along and it's time to pitch a tent out back!
