P30 parts

My '75 20' argosy is now road worthy. However, the cruise control is not working. I am sure that I am not the first person to have the bellows on the cruise control servo rot out. Does anyone know if they still make this part for the P30 chassis?

Also, the heater valve in the engine compartment does not completely close off. I read somewhere that there is an upgrade to this part. Does anyone know where to get this, and what the upgrade is called?

Aldo,

I don't believe the cruise control servo is available anymore. I replaced a similar cruise control system on our 310 with an aftermarket replacement from Rostra. I documented what I did in a thread here on Airforums. Total cost was around $275 for everything. It's not that hard of a job.

As for the heater valve, there are various shutoff valves out there that will work. From what I've read the H style is the best because it recirculates the coolant back to the engine instead of cutting off flow entirely which helps in engine cooling.

Thanks! It seems like this is a very common problem with these motorhomes, when they sit unused for several years. I am going to do my best to make sure that doesn't happen with mine.

We had an old 1978 Chevy pickup with 454 up until a few years ago, and I had pretty good luck getting parts from Rock Auto.

Does the part you seek look something like this?

I have been scouring the on-line parts catalogs. It looks like the only place for the servo is a junkyard. The servo has a black rubber cone shaped bellows that seems to rot out over time. The same thing happened on my other Argosy as well. Last time, I patched the hole with the ole reliable duct tape. Unfortunately, the hole is too big this time.

The part you linked to isn't the one. However, it may be what I have to convert over to, if that's what is available today. For right now, I will use my foot for cruise control. It will keep me awake on the long drives.

Thanks
Walt

Greg,

I basically watched ebay until I found somthing that I thought would work. I did find a couple of different choices at O'Reillys and I think Autozone but they were more expensive so I opted for the one from ebay.

I'll see if I can find some information on the one I bought.

Here is the valve that I bought.

Heater control valve

I can't remember if I have to reverse the arm on the valve or not. I may also have to modify the mount which is no big deal.

Hope this helps.
