1978 Argosy 28' Windshield Wiper Motor Replace/Repair?
Hello,
Does anyone know where I can find a new/used Windshield Wiper motor for my 1978 Argosy 28' Motorhome?
There are 2 motors, one for the driver-side and one for the passenger-side. The passenger motor works fine, but the driver side does nothing.
I'm uncertain if it's a wiring issue, or if the motor itself is bad.
Any advice is very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Is the left and right the same motor? If so, you can swap motors. Then you will know if it is a motor or something else, also you will then have the working motor on the driver's side where you need it most.

Thanks Terry. I didn't even think of that. I believe they are the same motor, so I'll give it a shot.
Thanks again!
Josh.

You should be able to just hook a power source (maybe a spare battery) directly up to the wiper motor. If it runs its not the motor

Josh.
As crazy as it sounds, on my 26' Argosy the drivers wiper motor is contrlled by the wiper switch, the passenger one by the washer switch!
Do please let us know if you find a good source.
Cheers,
Andrew

That motor is available from us.
A drive arm must also be ordered with the motor. There are two types of drive arms, one with a square hole and the other with a round hole.
You must specify which one you need.

rt or left will work you will need to change the timing on the points if you swap sides. check the points if they break contact in the the motor will not start I may have one if you need Cnb61 {77 polished argosy}

Cnb61,
Could you go into more detail on the timing issue? I just pulled both wiper motors out of my 84 310 and it appears that the timing marks are identical. For a quick fix I plan on putting the passenger wiper motor on the drivers side until I can get a replacement motor. So if the timing marks really are supposed to be different it would be nice to know what to do
Thanks,
Brad
