Why doesn't Airstream make the Safari?

I don't know why Airstream doesn't make the 19 to 25 foot Safari trailers anymore. My ex wife and I bought a new 25 foot Safari six sleeper in 2002 and we loved it. I have decided to try to find a used 19 to 25 foot Safari and have found that they are almost impossible to find. When I checked I found Airstream doesn't make this anymore. They now have the Sport 16 and 22 foot models (both are either 8 feet or 7' 2" wide and very "cold" feeling. I really liked the nice white padded ceiling and the carpeted walls, like the one we had before. I felt the padding helped the camper to be more quiet and more "homey". I just turned 65 in January and I hope to use the camper extensively when I retire in a few years but I want to get one now. I did see that Airstream still uses the padded ceilings and carpeted walls in it's "Classic" series but there's no way I could ever afford one of them, besides they don't make any sizes smaller than 27 feet. I really hope somebody at Airstream sees my post.
Thank you, Vaughn Hobbs

Hello and welcome to Airforums, Vaughn! Sorry to hear you can't find the Airstream you want. Keep your eye on thne Classifed section here, you may have some luck.

By the way, did you look at the Flying Cloud model? I thought that was the model that took over the Safari spot in the lineup. But I am sure more knowledgable members will have more to say on that question.

Good luck with your hunt!

Some years ago the Safari became the Safari SE when their marketing learned folks wanted more windows and aluminum interiors, loaded with accessories. Then they dropped the Safari altogether to become a Flying Cloud. I doubt Airstream will see your post. But there are still earlier Safaris and 25' Classics around.

We have a 2006 Safari SE and it has the "fake mouse fur" walls (thank you Mr. Protagonist ) as well as the padded white ceiling. We found and bought ours a few months ago and we like it too. It feels very comfortable inside and the carpet walls and padded ceiling definitely holds down the sound, from the exterior too.

They show up from time to time, check the classifieds. I just saw one a couple of weeks ago, don't remember which state (Washington???).
