Route 66 Caravan Sept 2008

A friend and I are planning a boondocking 30 day Route 66 caravan and will be looking for four more trailers to participate. Participants must have the capability to dry camp as we will not be planning any RV parks unless it we are unable to find dump stations. This will be limited to six trailers. If you think you will be interested drop me a lilne via this medium and will keep you informed as we develop the plans. There will be a fee up front for the committment and returned at the end of the caravan. It will not be WBCCI sanction.

Estancia, The Heart of New Mexico

Estancia is 15 miles south of Rt 66 (south of Moriarty 40 m east of Albuquerque). There is a good chance the town would support an overnight (or 2) stop. In Estancia there is a real pretty town park with a lake (site of the last public hanging in New Mexico) and limited access to electricity and bathrooms.

Hi,

I'm not sure I could take this much time away from work but we are interested. Please keep us informed.

Thanks,

Jerry

that are the dates in september ?

might be interested.

consider including some of the original santa fe trail.

lots of history, good roads and some sections are really better than r66...

is this a round trip?

cheers

I made the 66 journey in 1952. Lots of memories I'd like to rekindle. We sure would like to join you but it is too soon to commit.

We don't have the dates yet but it will one way. We are thinking start point in St. Louis. We'll publish route and dates on this forum when we have it ready. I'm going to International Rally in Bozeman then up to Glazier Nat'l Park then meet in St. Louis for the beginning of the Caravan.

I need to put a disclaimer. If anyone is offended by signs that say "Boycott EXXON/MOBIL" please don't participate as both of us have magnetic signs that read that. If you would like to get a pair of signs that say that, I'll be glad to get you a pair.
