Good Sam - Phoenix 2012

Is anyone here going to that huge Good Sam Rally in Phoenix later this month? We're really more into camping with small groups of friends but it's kinda half way between where I live and my best friend does so we talked the hubbies into going. Would love to connect with any other Airstreamers while there! We're a fun group and always have good wine/booze and snacks on hand!!

The DW and I will be there. Thought it was time to check one out. Maybe we'll see you there. Have no idea how many are coming, but in the past they have been pretty large. Camping is the parking lot at the speedway. Need to arrive with full tank of water and empty waste water tanks. They do have vendors who provide fresh water and honey wagon services for a fee.

We'll have to look for each other Silver Goose! We'll be in the generator section! Yeah - I hear it's gonna be a huge event ...we're leaving early Wed morning and camping in Banning, CA and then heading into Phoenix (fully loaded with water and empty tanks) super early Thur morning - meeting up with our friends so we can roll in together and get parked next to each other - we have the before noon check in time on Thur morning.

We will be there. We are in the dry camping area (I guess this could be called the generator area). An overnighter in Laughlin, NV then a very early departure for Phoenix. Our pass into the park does not indicate AM or PM. So, we will try for the AM entry. Our Airstream has the TAC NV-1 on both the front and rear windows. Hope to meet all of you.

We're here at the Rally! Saw a few Airstreams coming in but were all packed in so close with so many huge motor homes it's really hard to find anyone! If anyone wants to stop by we're doing cocktails after the show tomorrow. Were in Row 7 space 20 near Tram Stop 14. Look for the shiny Airstream with the blue awning and party lites!!! A tan ford explorer is parked in front.

We'll try to find you if possible. We're on row 2 #54, there are 2 more behind me on row 1 but I haven't yet seen who belongs to them. Heard one estimate of 3200 rigs on the grounds. Think they packed us in a little tighter than they really needed to...

Bummed I didn't get to connect with any fellow Airstreamers at the Rally -- it was just too big and congested! We did meet some super nice people and had fun entertaining in our AS though! I got the official tally today for the Phoenix Rally -- 3370 rigs!!

Sorry I did not respond to your post regarding your parking site. We don't have Internet unless the campground provides wi fi. We were row six, number 7. We were surrounded by large motor homes. At 7:00 am they all started their generators. No need for an alarm. The guy in charge of parking should be fired. About 3/4 of the parking spaces for the PIR were vacant and we were choking on exhaust fumes.

Like you, we met many fun people and inspite of the parking guru, we did have a good time.
