WHAT A RALLY!
Folks,...if you missed this... you really lost an opportunity, but you can make it up NEXT YEAR!

Everything was FREE and the Texas Plains Unit really did a BANG-UP RALLY!

Big Band concert in the 3-Rivers Ballroom was the finale night, but it was a CONSTANT week of surprises as the Plains Unit really outdid anything imaginable. (Read the description again, and I can promise that it was better than imagined!)

Met Airstreamers from all over the country, some as far away as Montana and Canada, and made many new friendships that will be forever treasured.

One cannot simply imagine the generosity and friendliness of the citizens and elected officials of Quanah, Texas! (The County Judge, Ronald Ingram cannot be trusted however.... Having never met him before this rally, ... my personal experience in making only a small joke about him picking up my lunch tab backfired to my utter embarrassment when the café refused to take my money! .... the judge himself had already paid my tab out of his own pocket!
Beware: Quanah politicians apparently do what they say and cannot be trusted to disregard the wishes of citizens, even when joking! )

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO ORGANIZED AND PARTICIPATED IN MAKING THIS RALLY A REALITY!

Thank you Bill Price and ALL!
WARNING: We're coming BACK NEXT YEAR!

That's the best sounding lineup of events I've seen as to my being attracted (past technical and vintage). And what a nice place to have it.

Have wanted to see the Mounds for more than 30-years, too.

Great report.

Somehow I overlooked this thread earlier in the year - otherwise, I would have added to it from time to time as the rally date approached and again during the event.

This was a great rally! Put it on your list for 2017 - no question about it, if you are within a days drive you should make it a point to be there in October 2017.

Had a great time, met lots of good people, the volunteers did an excellent job and the town really supported this event.

I'm not sure if this rally was intended to be part of the "Urban Air" series of rallies that have been discussed and held elsewhere but the coordinators of this rally did a fantastic job adopting the Urban Air principles. The local community was definitely involved. Local shops were pleased with the cash-mob influx of money. All participants gained a better understanding of the surrounding area, attended a series of useful seminars, ate some wonderful food and generally had a grand old time.

Hats off to all that made this rally possible. It was a very unusual and interesting event. I don't know what you'll do next year to top it!

Georgia Pacific was a sponsor. GP makes commercial grade wallboard (not sheetrock) at the nearby Acme, TX plant. GP gave each RV in attendace an armfull of paper products.
