New England Unit Does it Again
The New England Unit of WBCCI shows once again that it knows how to have fun, camp and share with others! This past weekend was another great example of having a wonderful time with WBCCI members and new friends, learning new things and sharing great food and drink. The Artsy Fartsy Rally was just another example of a great time being had by all.

It was a great time! I was very impressed in the talent in the club. It was fun to see at the beginning of the day, with so many saying, I can't do that! At the end of the day, hey that was easier than I ever imagined. Great instructors, great pupils!!!
Meet Daisy, she is certain to attend more rallies!
Follow Rick's link to see and read about the fun!

Why is it that every time I see a picture of Amanda she always seems to be having a good time? Nice to see some of the folks I met at the Vintage JAM having a good time too. I think a WDCU & NEU joint rally is in order soon.

I see no reason what so ever that that can not be arranged! Better yet, let's do it and invite non-WBCCI folks with Airstreams so they can experience first hand how we (WDCU and NEU) put on a real Rally!

well...lets see...
there was a rendezvous in S.Thomaston, ME about 4 or 5 years ago...
then there was the "Big E" rally, out near Springfield...couple or 3 years ago...
Those are the 2 that I can think of, off the top of my head.

Oh yeah, at least 5 member brought kayaks or canoes, the water was running so fast you dared not put in. That didn't stop us, and it was good fortune we got back to where we put in! We were the talk of the campground attendants, one asked me did you see the 2 kayaking, man they were lucky, the next put out is a ways down stream. I says, yeah that was me...
What a rush tho

We attended a joint NEU / WDCU rally in September, 2004 in MA. We all went to "The Big E" fair. I don't remember the name of the campground, just that it rained cats and dogs on Friday night. The hill that was next to our campsite turned into a waterfall!
The rally was fab! Most everyone from WDCU had vintage trailers and TVs. Here's a few pictures.

I love our club
Attending this past weekend's "Artsy Fartsy" rally reminded me that there are many reasons why I love the WBCCI. Here's our story:
Leon and I did not remember to plug "The Tube" into our 30amp plug in the barn the night before we were leaving for Wilgus State Park and the Artsy, Fartsy Rally. Wilgus is a dry camping park so we needed to be completely charged up in order to run our lights and Leon's C-Pap machine for the the weekend. We didn't bring our little generator - we figured the truck would charge our batteries enough during the two hour tow so we didn't worry about it. Well, we get to our site, set up camp and then checked our batteries using the Test thingy (on the range hood) in the trailer. We were shocked to discover the batteries were only 1/2 full! Since it was late and the party was in full swing we went and joined the fun (I HATE missing out on any party time). We got back to our trailer late plugged Leon's C-Pap into the inverter and it would not start, not enough juice left in the batteries to run it. Needless to say neither of us had a good nights sleep. . The next day Leon pops the hood on our TV to see why it didn't charge our trailer batteries while we were in transit. It was like a powerful magnet - men were pulled right to it. Leon explained what happened and instantly "rickandsandi" brought over his generator for us to use to bring our batteries back up. "pam"'s son had the resolution to our problem at hand - new GMC trucks are not set up to charge trailer batteries when purchased. The wiring is there, just not completely installed. The dealer should have completed the setup but overlooked it. "pam"'s son quickly found the wire and explained to Leon how to install it.
Everyone we have met in this club is willing to help one another. It's a beautiful thing. And because folks were willing to help us out Leon and I got a good night sleep on Saturday - that's a really beautiful thing.

Isn't it great that Airstream People are always there to help. We were more than glad to be there to help you guys. Leon even offered to fill the gen with gas (silly boy)! Last week we were camping in Oak Hill, NY with about 1,200 other campers ranging from a sheet of plastic with two poles to Airstreams. It just so happend that as we were pulling into the farm with our two AS's we were followed in by one we never met before. Cool, three AS parked together in a big cow field surrounded by 1000's of camper. Now to the point of this gibber, our new friend had a regulator problem, no idea of what to do and we AS owners jumped right in and by dinner time he had his range and fridge in full working order. You just gotta love any crowd of Airstreams!

Not only that, you get "monday morning /armchair quarterbacks", like myself , to tell you things like:
"well...you wouldn't have gotten much of a charge from a 2 hour drive, anyway, even if the truck was properly configured, because the wire from the truck is too thin to supply much".
