Oh, he used the Grecian formula, but we don't want to go there...

Hey all...we are still here in Cottonwood, one of 7 units (Clint & Kathy, Julianne, Mike & Tracy, Jim & Min, Sandy, John, and Terry & Greg) remaining for the "last hurrah" ...had a pleasant dinner together and then finished off most of the firewood. This was the first day there were any clouds and those went away about 4 PM...it was sad to see everyone leaving before us this morning after such a great rally filled with new memories with old and new friends alike... This is a wonderful group! Most will be leaving tomorrow we suspect, unless there is a big snow tonight (which we doubt), in which case we will be able to scrape together another dinner, no doubt! Thank you Super Hosts Richard & Jan for making this a great rally, and we are looking forward to and plannning for Dead Horse 4...Aaarrrggggh! There will be pictures later. Oh, and special sincere thanks to all those who helped resolve the truck issue we had with our truck (post #255, last pic)...it was Battery Power! What a great group, all willing and able to pitch in and make it happen.

Guess who's PLUGGED IN!!!
Min, thanks for the burgers...burp!...we have NOT run out of food...I know, I know...surprising thing at a 4CU rally...
Jan, is that apple juice in the bottle on the table, or do I need to call HAZ-MAT???
Sergio, I think the telescoping marshmallow forks are yours...? We have them, and, yes, you WILL get them back...maybe in a Victoria's Secret bag... with the book, and something else, but NOT Gingerbread LAtte...
Fire's kinda out, 'cept for the coals that blew to Montana...I'll get them next year...
WHERE ARE YOU GUYS???

The world outside the rally site...

The locations of 4CU rallies offer opportunities to see some amazing country. Here are a few photos from Tuzigoot National Monument, the Verde River, Sedona, and Oak Creek Canyon.

It is beautiful country! Sedona, while physically surrounded by wonderful views, was just too much of a real estate developer's wet dream for me, though. (Reminded me too much of Angel Fire in that regard.) Cottonwood is a nice little town (Deadhorse is right on the edge), and Jerome is fun! We also wandered about at Tuzigoot NM for quite a while, and it was also neat.

I just want to say that Richard and Jan did an amazing job putting all this together. The put a lot of work into it and their efforts made it a real success.

We had a blast. Even though we didn't bring the trailer, it was still a great time and we really enjoyed seeing everyone. We're looking forward to next year.

We had a great time at our first rally and are proud to be new members of 4CU. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Thanks, Richard and Jan, for pulling it all together! Until we meet again, happy trails to all.

We moved up from the group site to one with electricity & water yesterday....long, hot showers in the Airstream and a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills. I think we are the only remnants of the Dead Horse 3 Rally to be found, and we are heading out tomorrow morning. It was a gorgeous day here today, and we spent some time walking around the lagoons....birdwatching mixed with some photo ops.

Thanks to everyone, especially Richard and Jan (our patient organizers), for a wonderful introduction to WBCCI and 4CU!!! See you all next year!

We (Terry & Greg with Sandy following in our little 2-unit caravan) left this morning before Scrappy & Tracy and Clint & Kathy and just after Jim & Min took off...John was gone and on his way when we got up...so the group site was left to relax a few days before the next group hits.

Sandy and we were going to stay at Cave Creek just north of Phx off Carefree Highway, but the park was filled to the hilt and so was the next place we were going to hit, McDowell Mountain, so we ended up at Lake Pleasant west of I-17 off Carefree Highway...it's beautiful here...we are on a hill overlooking the huge lake...will explore more tomorrow...we'll be here a few days, then decided what comes next...working our way home...

We have been remembering moments and events from the Rally and reveling in the friendship and good times we experienced. Again, thanks to all for making it special and thanks to Jan & Richard...they are truly "Super Hosts."

I am very sad that we had to bail out so early but my mothers cancer had caused her spleen to rupture and it was touch and go for a few days. She is home now (praise the Lord) and doing very well. I wish the kids could have experienced the full weekend of me yelling at them to get out of the fire but we will go back toward the end of March or beginning of April to get the whole family in on some fishing. I really loved pulling in to see so many A/S's lined in a circle. Oh, thanks for the cigar Julianne

Jerry - It's good to hear that things are now beter for your Mom. I was glad I got to meet you even though you were our neighbor for only one night. Jan and I look forward to seeing you and the kids again at another rally.

Jerry,
Very glad to hear that your Mom is doing well. Thanks for sharing your kids with us...it's nice to have younger ones around to remind us of where we used to be, and what we can lose by allowing ourselves to get 'old'...I, for one, still throw things in the fire, just because, when no one's looking...ok, ok,...SOMETIMES folks are looking...
I'll put myself in 'quiet time', now, but i shall return...
See you next time...

Well me and the boys finally completed our Dead Horse 3. Stayed in the Quali section and met a fellow Streamer from England but registers in Montana, I think his number was 4764 but not sure, it was a nice Excella though. Very nice person. Fished but got no nibbles and wandered around the whole area. Can't wait for DH4.
