It's my understanding that day-passes are available for the rally for a nominal ($10-15) fee. Not just for the Open House, but each day. Some people stay off-site in hotel rooms - this is how they are able to attend. The organizers typically do frown upon people just wandering the grounds without checking in though...in Salem there were several bikes stolen and they did "lock down" the site to protect the members more than I had seen before. I can't say that's all bad...especially if things were turning up missing.
Shouldn't be a problem if you check in for a day (or several day) pass.

Day passes were available at Salem OR, $10 per person, per day. I'm going solo this year but checked the particulars of a day pass just in case Gail was going to fly down for a weekend.
The day pass includes you in all the activities for that day including the night time entertainment. No word whether passes have gone up in price, but we purchased 3-day passes each last year. Just go to registration and specifically tell them you are without rig and just need a DAY PASS.
Otherwise they'll process you for full registration at $100+!
"Just got a call from Gene Poast and he wants us to pass the word to all
that are coming to Perry. Thought you might be able to do a quick email.
They have been inundated with small sugar ants. "They are so bad
they are dropping from the ceiling." The ants have been rejuvenated
with the recent rain and everyone is having a problem Gene suggests that
you buy a product called Toro and bring it with you. Toro comes in a
small bottle and you put a few drops on a piece of cardboard and they
love it."
That product might be "Terro" which is a boric acid-sugar syrup solution. But it has to be set around on various surfaces so the ants take it back to the mothership and eventually all their little ant-stomachs explode.
It does work incredibly well--I use the traps every year--but it takes some time. If you place it outside at their portals of entry, it could keep them at bay. But it's not so good for the pets.
And it might not be the most effective technique for a short-term rally.
You might want to try some diatomaceous earth around all wheels, hose bases, etc. as a fairly non-toxic barrier.
Sounds like a terrific rally, with or without pesky visitors. Have fun!

I've been praying for rain - we'll see what happens. Abandoned the '53 Flying Cloud - no time to get it ready. Time to climb up on top of the '65GT and see if I can get that AC unit to kick in. You can always come visit (if it works!)...
I currently do not own a airstream,But i wanted to go to this rally just for the day.Does anyone know if i can get thru the gates? We just want to take some pics and look at the a/s.If someone can help, please let us know.
We are thinking of passing through on our way to points out west. Does anybody know of a good quality campground outside the facilities we could drive from to attend a day's activities?
