NorCal : NorCal Spring Rally, Casini Ranch, April 15-17

Lynn and I are still here with one other Airstream. Kinda drizzly outside but not bad. Sun is trying to emerge. Anyway this is the time to post the piccys I've taken....most of them anyway. These are in chrono....order somewhat begining with arrival day for most of you on Friday. Vinnie has to compete with my red convertible so he brought his '46 Jeep and put on an unloading demo. Then the welcome 'wine and cheese social' began which was the timely other attention getter...Robert's fashionably late arrival. There will be several postings to follow.

Saturday began with promise of a pleasant day if not breezy. Open house and general socializing with old a many new friends plus excursions to local points of interests was available. Open house brought some 'outsiders' to see how much we enjoy our Airstreams. The one pleasant difference was the beautiful renovated Silver Streak that William, Kelly and William JR created. Just beautiful.

Hey, did you hear then see the WW2 B17 fly over? Lookin' for a missing Jeep....probably.
Lynn and I are sometimes 'accused' of trying to be Lucy and Ricky (Nicky) in the 'Long, Long Trailer' movie. That's okay...I'm not Cuban nor is Lynn a redhead. Our daughter and her 2 boys have red hair but I guess that doesn't count. AND I'm happy that Lynn doesn't collect rocks along our way! So I can live with the stuffed animals/birds that she does and happily displays around our Airstream.

I love a rally where everyone doesn't rush to get up early and the stress-o-meter is low! We missed last year and have been lucky to have been to 5 or 6 rally's at Casini. Each time we are surprised at all of the new silver that shows up.
Great to see the old stand-by's and meet the new campers as well. The weather cooperated for the most part and I even got a sunburn!
Our thanks to the organizing committee; Jeff, John and Vinnie (not in any order of importance)!!!
...and thanks to Viinie and Cindy for giving us a tour of Duncan's Mills in their 1946 Jeep. It was a blast!

Boring pictures of people eating.......and having FUN! What a feast! Each year is the best then there's this one. Hey, Shout outs here; Murray and Gemma drove up from Oakland, sans trailer, just to bring the funky cheeses...Perry, picture in a previous post here, traveled all the way down from Nevada, sans trailer, just for the pot luck, and of course birthday kudos to Kathy and Jeff. There were other 'young' 'Streamers too but I didn't hear the names.

.....for left overs but nuttin' left! These are the photos from me ....for now. THERE'S MORE.... but I haven't uploaded them yet. They will be of 'Goodbye, Sunday' and leftovers, that's those who stay another day. It's still raining lightly here but I have some preps for our departure Tuesday.

Thanks for a great time! As newbees, we didn't know what to expect, but everyone made us feel welcome. Thanks to all who put on this shindig! We met old friends and made a buncha new ones. We especially enjoyed looking at all the Airstreams of varying vintages and talking with the owners on how they customized their trailers.
Good food, good drink and especially good folks. We'll be back next year.

Ok folks.. so its 3 minutes to 6:00pm...

The clock is ticking... The make shift dinner bell is about to ring and here's Robert cooking like a mad man after rewashing the farm implement. Rumor has it that he is missing a significant amount of arm and leg hair after that event?!

Wow! I had a last minute opportunity, made it in time for dinner. Wonderful time, met some new best friends and got to do some planning for our Burningman 2011 "rally". Thanks so much! Sure hope next year I can plan to bring the airstream too.
