Still thinking about that. Probably will have my mind made up by the end of the month. Work has been brutal (busy) so my Internet time has been pretty minimal. Glad to see the good turnout so far. I'll start my planning work shortly.
Our plan is to arrive on Thursday, and for the third year I'll host the Friday evening hot dog feast. I'll supply the dogs, buns, and condiments. Those who wish can bring some chips or other side items. This has become a fun event and I eat my years allotment of hot dogs at this one setting...

Wow, just over 5 weeks to go. Let's hope some of this crazy Midwest weather straightens out.....we've had two tornadoes hit the STL city and county area since New Year's eve. That first one came about 2 miles from my house. Thankfully the A/S was tucked away in some inside storage away from harms way. I hope all of you coming have avoided the nastiness.

It is time to start thinking about the food side of the rally. As the most recent tradition, I'll be hosting the Hot Dog meet and greet on Friday afternoon beginning at 5 PM at my site (18). Bring along any side items you might like to share. I'll have the dogs, buns and fixins to put on the dogs.
Saturday will be our tradional open house, with the pot luck dinner beginning at 6PM. I'll post the list as to what you plan to contribute in a week or so. After dinner it will be movie time and we will have an Airstream related video and then a feature movie. All of this of course is weather permitting.
Last year was the first year where we almost got rained out. Luckily the skys parted in late afternoon and we got dinner and the movie in. 8 years without losing this event due to weather is pretty remarkable and we will hope that year 9 brings us the same luck. More later.

Yep, I think I head over to Sams or Costco and buy Ballpark Franks. They are really good. I probably only eat them once a year and like you I'm so ready.....

We will think about food to bring when we get a little closer and know what the temps are going to be. Last year it was so d--- hot!
Would like to make my famous Ginger-Peach Cobbler in the DO, maybe.
We and TinLoaf are having an enjoyable but alternately wet weekend at Hidden Springs SF. Mcair were out for the day and dinner yesterday, and the dogs are having a blast running loose as we are the only ones in this area.

Friends are getting there first Airstream and this will be the first trip. I think they will arrive on the 9th with us.

Doug & Maggie, Cosmotini and I talked about the Moraine View Rally so much at this weekend's Southern Illinois Unit rally that Jim & Kaye from our unit signed up for site 8 arriving Thursday. It looks like only sites 1 and 9 remain open in the loop.
They have their grandmother's 1959 Airstream Pacer, their mother's 1973 Airstream Ambassador and their own late model Airstream Safari. I'm trying to talk them into reserving the other two sites and bringing all three!

Jim & Kaye are nice people, and we promised them a great weekend full swapping tales from the road, great food and the company of many other nice people.
For those of you who have not been to Moraine View before, fill your fresh water before you arrive as the water at that park is rather nasty tasting.
Looking forward to the rally and only driving 20 minutes to get there!
