We had a great time in KY and really loved the sea of aluminum. We are looking forward to the Metro Detroit rally. Do we have a theme going for the Metro-Detroit this year? What activities are we lining up?? Anything??

This weekend we are having a backyard "camp-in". Big Al and Jean are coming for the Cleveland Marathon that Jean will do on Sunday. Go, Jean!!! And Loren, our daughter, is camped in the backyard in the popup already since she has a couple of days off. She says it is time to air the camper out and get it ready for summer. She will have a chilly night out there tonight. Good thing she has a couple of furry friends to keep her warmer. Her two dogs are out there enjoying the crisp air too.

Yeah!! We're going to have some girls. Last year was about 10 boys and only my two girls. What are their ages?

Our Girls Birthdays are both late summer. But they will get along great cant wait till then.

where and when is this here rally folks? Looking to get to lower Mich and see what can be done with this old trailer that I have had for a while.

Nice looking trailer snoringbeagle. I am sure that Dave or Ronda will fill you in better. The rally is Friday July 31 to Sunday August 2nd in Milan Michigan just a few miles east of US23. My wife and I attended last year and had a great time. We hope to see you there.

Milan is just up the road from Cabela's. A bit of a haul but we would be glad to have you!

The original toilets were what they called "drop to daylight." There are no black tank so you just dug a hole and drained into it. So you if you want to have a functional potty it will need to be replaced and tanks added. We plan on adding black and gray tanks to our 56 Overlander when we replace the floor.

If your interior is in good condition you should definately keep it. You should consider updating the electric system. I hear there is some pretty scary wiring in the older trailers. Adding gray and black water tanks also is a good idea unless you always plan on having full hook-ups. If your trailer has the original floor it is advisable to replace that also since the tiles are asbestos. If you still have the split rims, those should also be replaced! But other than that if the floor is in good shape I would just use it and enjoy. We plan on keeping ours original. It is like stepping back in time!

Anyhow please try to make it. We would love to see your FC in person!

If You use a chainsaw please buy and use chainsaw chaps. I did not and just got back from the hospital with a nasty wound to my knee. Had to rearrange vacation and it may affect us being able to attend the rally. I had always intended to buy chaps but have used chainsaws 30 plus year with no major incidents only close calls and minor stuff and thought it wouldn't happen to Me.. PLEASE BUY CHAPS, I just ordered mine a bit too late. Did I mention BUY AND USE CHAPS. Still have fair chance of making the rally all is not lost yet I would hate to miss this because I didn't spend $80.00 or less on a set of CHAPS.

Can I also mention that a helmet is a great investment. The ones with the built in ear protection and face sheild are really nice. You can find them at Lowe's in the chainsaw aisle (along with chaps, I might add).

Wow I sure hope you get better soon my friend.. Also yes on the hardhat,, I can tell you a story about that from when I was 11 years old and found a family friend in the woods near death because of working alone and not wearing one...
