So, I guess we need to start looking at sites near here for the regular annual gathering of the LPPI and we can still plan an officially sanctioned "LPPI" caravan to Alpena!

That sounds fun Ralph I can see me "falling off the wagon" (with the recipe.)

Perhaps Lou you can make two dates one for a local rally and one for a trip to Alpena and see who can make them.

Where's John?

There does not seem to be any great call for a rally thread right now. I dunno why....
We need everyone's input to let the planners know if they would attend or not. I have to get some kind of an idea of how many units we are planning on having at this year's event in order to shop around for a campground.
I am up for the idea of using your place for the local event!
I am still planning on a weeklong trip to Alpena either before or after the rally. Maybe both!

I am too busy to surf ASForums much anymore. I usually just check when I get an email that there is a new post to a thread that I subscribe to. I now tend to visit SaveWally and the WBCCI.net forums more frequently than ASForums. I rarely go to the SilverTwinkie forums. Just too busy with other things, I guess. But still looking forward to camping season none the less. Time and location will tell if Lorrie and I can make the 2007 Metro-Detroit Rally or not. I hate to let Lou and the rest of you down, but it's entirely possible we will miss this year's rally. I hope not, but it's a possibility.

Dog gone!

Well, the forum changover lost my last post, so here's a recap.

I just got caught up on the thread. Alpena sounds wonderful, I've been thinking about a camping trip up there soon. Steph was going to check out a state forest campground - not for the rally, though, not any facilities, just rustic sites.

I also see the wisdom in staying a bit closer to the city. However, Apple Creek was still over two hours drive for us, and I'm sure the Canadian and Indiana campers drove farther.

How about a compromise, if Alpena is out? Tawas. Or Oscoda. There's a KOA in Oscoda, anyone been to it? How about Old Orchard or Brown's Landing?

Howdy John! Now we'll get serious and buckle down to business. Our time frame is August right? I was having too much fun talking to Leanne, Nancy and Candie while you boys were hashing things out. That picture looks inviting. I want to go camping!!!! YEA!!! What's up with the Michigan snow?!

any room for newbies?

Hey all,

I've been browsing through this thread, chuckling at some of the posts - seems like you all know each other really well.

My husband and I just bought our first AS ('64 Trade Wind). We're located in Kalamazoo, MI and want to keep "Felix" pretty close to home this year as we get the hang of being an AS owner. Is there any room at your '07 Detroit/Metro rally for newbies???

Thanks,
Renee
