We've made our reservations and are looking forward to the Canopener!
That's quite a potluck list!

Hmmm ... would that be about seven/eight days from now for a testing? I think I'm on to you now and know the location of the test site. Have cup ... will test. Guess that means multiple trips to the ABC. Definitely more trips prior to January.

Updated Canopener Map
Here's the updated Canopener map. We're setting a record attendance level - 77 trailers and roughly 160 people! Options are being considered on how to hold the potluck dinner as the clubhouse (with back porch used) will only hold 140 people.
Click on this link to see the updated map:

Breakfast with the Ranger
As I mentioned in post 154, one of the events of the Canopener Rally is the "Breakfast with the Ranger". This breakfast will be held Saturday, January 5, at 9:00am in the clubhouse. A park ranger will give a talk about the park and the Volunteers of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park will provide breakfast as a fundraiser for the park. The menu is pancakes, eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, coffee, and orange juice. The cost is $4 per person.
That's the good news. The bad news is that we are limited to 80 participants. This is quite a bit less that the potluck dinner limit because more than that either can't see the slide show or sit inside the building.
So, I'm letting everyone know that I will be intiating a signup list tomorrow that is first come, first served. Look for my post.
Russ

Actually if I remember right it is Food and Education if they follow past precedence. That is also the standard that schools like to follow and not try and teach on an empty stomach.

Howie, they only do it that way because the food tends to quiet down the rabble.

Russ,
if the meeting room isn't already booked, any shot at having a second session at 11am or noon - "Brunch with the Ranger"?
maybe that could be scheduled based on some warranty of a minimum number (20?, 30?) that would also make the Rangers and breakfast-makers happy?

Joseph/Gabrielle, you have a good idea but I don't want to work it in at this point. There is another unofficial event that occurs mid to late Saturday morning that AirHeadsRus puts on each year. Just ask any previous Canopener attendees about it. We also have the Trailer Open House that starts at noon. Finally, there are many rally attendees who don't do breakfast or just don't want to attend this event. Russ
