We are seriously thinking about it............we love it there (went down for a week in May), but our hold-back is thinking of having to drive through the mountains in snow/ice. (Kentucky/Tennessee)

Chief, It's too close to home and too much fun to miss! Pete and I will be in site 117 and Wayne & Charlotte in site 151. Do you have entertainment lined up?

Deb,
I hear the snow and ice won't start until January 20th, so come on down!

Sandy,
Great to hear you guys are coming back for 2012 (it was a blast this year, wasn't it).
Entertainment: We're still working that one. Russ and I are waiting to see just how many folks signup....it may be that we exceed the capacity of the Club House. We had around 90 people crammed in there this year, and I don't think we can safely fit anymore than that. We'll have to take a look at some possible solutions as time goes along. I'll be at Topsail over Labor Day weekend and will discuss some things with the Rangers. I hope we don't have to put a limit on numbers.....but, it may be the case. Stay tuned.

Map Update
The Canopener site map has been updated with the latest known changes: Canopener Site Map - Photo Gallery
For those that have not signed up at the RSVP page (with names of attendees/site numbers), please do so. Judging from the early signups, this may be a banner year for Canopener. The only place that we can keep track of attendees (and, cancellations) is on the RSVP page. Help a brother out folks, and get your names and site numbers listed.
RSVP at: Airstream Forums - Canopener 2012
Thanks in advance,
Chief

Greg,
Wouldn't that be nice!?
I'm thinking of signing up/reserving and then just watch to see how the weather looks when it gets close to time to leave.

HiHo, looking forward to seeing you again - it's been a couple of years! Also looking forward to seeing your "honkin' long 34'". And make sure you see Stan and Lynn's 34' - they did an outstanding job updating it.

Are any of the other "Snow Birds" a little nervous about going over the mountains in the winter to get there/home? Maybe we're making too much of this, but the thought of being out with Lola in an ice storm rattles my nerves.

The bloody mary "recipe" is in the process of being perfected with the next test run up in Bristol this month. It should be just right by January!!! See y'all then.

Don't adjust the recipe much. As I recall from the last Canopener, they were perfect!

Air Cruiser reserved site #115 and we'll be there from 1/5-1/8/12! Looking forward to our first Canopener!
I RSVP'd, but for some reason it didn't show up, I tried "refreshing" the page, and it still didn't work.

We are planning to start out Jan. 2 and arrive at Topsail Jan. 5. lots of time to deal with poor road conditions. We are staying through Jan.19 then on to where ever?
My question is: do I de-winterize before we leave or after we arrive? If I do it before we leave will the furnace in the AS keep it warm enough for the water tanks, lines, etc.? No tank heaters on a vintage 65 Safari. Your help is appreciated.
