That's right, Paula, we are not wasting time...besides we miss our "family"!
Well, if you can make it to Vail Lake next month, it will be wonderful. Wine tasting outting (for you) and fishing at the pond or the lake (for Steve and Cody). It's a win win situation. However, notreallyarallyrally "surf & turf" at San Clemente will be fun too, and it's not freezin' there either. We'll just have to find something Steve can do to keep him busy there.
Let us know when you decide...of course, just come for both, it's only a couple weeks between the two. You can visit Quartzite in between and do some gems/crystal hunting at their annual Gem Fair. Just sayin'
=^^=

You didn't need to do that John. I got it first thing this morning, but at least I was softened up and expecting it. So, is anybody else going? You can tell us all about it at Vail Lake. R

Hey str8s, how about a less ambitious plan.
Maybe you could go camping a for a few days before the event and then go home for the wedding and stay home.
Or stay home until the wedding and then come to Death Valley after for a few days.
Before AND after does seem like a lot of driving.
So far the dates are pretty flexible.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
Who else may be interested in going?

Hey. There is life on this thread. Stay home?? Who said that? What's a hundred or so miles among friends? I guess coming for one half or the other is a possibility. I'll take what I can get. We'll see what we can do. It's mighty quiet out there. Is anybody in? R

I'm still here.
And I think I'll go.
And I heard Mr. Bo may be a go but he'll have to say so.
(oh oh...rhymes...danger!)
On another note...
I got a jury summons today to show up for jury duty on December 24th.
Nice.

You're a trooper.
Dec. 24th? What self-respecting judge is working on the 24th? Call Milo. I'm sure he can straighten this all out.

If Karen can get that week off we'll be there on our way back from Mt. Picachu.
12-24 is a perfect date for jury duty. You'll be there for half a day and then be done.

As a side note for the future
El Mirage of El Mirage dry lake fame is Just west of the 395 and north of the 138. It's 24000 acres of BLM you can camp there land.
You can camp on the edge of the dry lake and watch the show. Unlimited speed cars and airplanes or wander into the wilds for that left alone feeling.
Just sayin

Ron, Yes they do schedule race days and I don't know when either. Every time I've been out there something has been oing on though from commercial shoots to time trials. The Barstow BLM office should have a schedule though.

Sounds interesting. And like another reason to rally.

That ought to work for you. Speaking of rain, I was making a top down run up 101 to SF, in the SSR on Saturday (our leadfooted hemi friends would have been proud) and got caught in a downpour. Got here and the weather was great. Washed it, and of course it's raining here again this morning. Arrgh.
