Hmmmm....just occurred to me that I read "raffle" but registered "give-aways". Sorry.

Personally, I like the idea of donated items given away better, unless we have a good place to put proceeds of a raffle......like the local homeless shelter. ??

I guess we could raffle off White Lighting, but it is illegal to sell. I guess you have to give it away.

Yep, some Wilkes County nector.

We had a great time back in September with give aways. Lots of good stuff. I have tickets, EVERYONE gets one. If you have some trinket to throw in, great. If you don't, that's ok, EVERYONE gets to play. We are working on some items from Airstream, and already have a nice start of goodies. Saturday nite after the fish fry.

We are working on plans and will firm up after the New Year. The next 10 days are busy for everyone.

We have something we can bring for the giveaways. John, just curious, how many Alumalina's have there been? Our first was in the fall. It's amazing how big this one is going to be! Should be so much fun! I talked my husband into coming in on Weds. Love the map with all those little Airstreams.

Go to the Forums page, click on the Rally zone, then Forums rallies and you'll find a link to click. Follow the prompts.

We'll have to have a little happy hour on Wednesday, for those of us who will be in early.

I will be bringing something to donate to the door prizes. Probably an airstream embroidery again.

Alrighty....this loaf made with one cup of 7-grain bread flour and 2 tablespoons flax meal added. What's on the exterior is wheat bran and a little flour.

Shaping this loaf, which is free-form, I believe the oval is due to that process.

I rather like the oval shape, as it is more conducive to nice slices.

you can also scroll to the bottom of the Portal page to Up coming rallies, then click on Alumalina. Post there.

Next March is only the 3rd year for the rally. We have had a Spring and Fall each year so a total of 4 gatherings so far. The plan is for many, many more.

Carolina airstreaming.......nothing could be finer!!!

Arrow,

One heck of a pot, only one big concern. John might think its Saturday night, grab a bar of soap and hop in and start scrubba dubba and looking for his rubber ducky!

Maggie,

I think you've created a DO monster, its gonna be good.

We invited some neighbors over Sat night and I cooked a bit different. Started with an attempt at Funnel Cakes. The DO did its job but you really have to figure out the batter, how thick, funnel tip size, technique etc. Then the chicken wings went in. I was hungry for some Buffalo Wings and we deep fried the wings, then slathered in hot sauce and got started getting messy. Turned out pretty good.

Hot oil needs respect, we didn't have any issues. Pot was plenty deep, not over loaded and temp was monitored. One thing about cast iron, its surprising how little it takes to keep it hot once you get it up to temp.

All in all a good backyard evening.

Gary

Looks yummy, Gary!

You do the more complicated things, I'll stick to the simpler items.

Where'd I put the soap???

Hey Gary, are you gonna need airbags on that Dodge to tote all that cast iron?
