Gary, I can bring some nice, kiln dried wood scraps from the shop. They burn up sorta fast but burn hot. And they make good starter wood for the big wood.

A check on the Lake Wateree SP web site shows only 7 sites left. Don't miss out.

Yep, it's shaping up nicely. Wish you and Doug could swing on by, you would like the setting.

I'm sure we would love the setting, and seeing everyone.

We looked at the map, and we are just too far north, not reasonably doable.

We'll see you in March.

Full moon over Lake Wateree SP

Ok, coming down the home stretch, time for an update.

The moon is indeed full on the 19th, so crazy things can happen. Be ready.

There are only 6 sites left in the park, don't let them get away if you need one.

As always, we will be at the mercy of the weather, so if you have a "push up" tent please bring it if you can. We have a large open area in the center of the loop in which to gather and a bath house nearby also. No matter where you are parked you will be in the thick of things.

FRIDAY The roadies will have supper for everyone at 6pm , so no one needs to worry about cooking. Just get there, safe and sound, come to the meet & greet at 5, relax. Not sure just yet but probably will be our almost famous Possum Bog. Possums have gotten scarce around here since the word got out about their demise. If you have something to share, bread, pasta, salad, fruit, single malt, anything at all, it is certainly welcome. Bring you dinner ware.

After supper we can all bark at the moon.

SATURDAY is the big day, lots of good stuff.

8:30-9:30 Breakfast. Pancakes are the featured attraction, we can use some sides to go with them. If you have a speciality, serve it up. I have a 50 cup perko pot for coffee. Meats, juices, fruits, pastries, bloody marys.

10:00-12:00 SEMINARS
1. Dandy Dave McCrostie will give an encore presentation on what you need to know to have the right insurance coverage on your trailer or motorhome. Dave is in the know, you will want to hear this.

2. Hitching up: a general, open discussion on hitches, set ups, leveling, tongue weights, sway control, breakaway switches. We have a Shurline Tongue Weight Scale available if you would like to check you trailer. The sites in the park are paved and mostly level so it is a very good place to check out your set up and make any adjustments if necessary.

3. Anything that's on you mind.

12:-1:00 Lunch on your own. Eat quick, catch a nap, possible long nite ahead. Remember the moon.

1:00-4:00 The good stuff. The trailer tours, open house, general paroozing. Enjoy the afternoon amongst friends.

4:00-4:30 Happy half hour, rally central. Maybe a cocktail before supper. Don't forget a coozie or cup for the adult beverages.

5:00-6:00 Supper. Need a suggestion here. Thinking potluck, bring your specialty. No one ever goes away hungary at an Airstream rally.( Don't have any fish for this rally but hope to be restocked for the March gathering.) Moon Pies????

6:30 until.........Door prizes, moon barking, general carryings on. If you have something you would like to throw into the door prizes, great. If not, that's ok too. Everyone gets to participate.

SUNDAY

8:30 Breakfast. Hangovers, err, I meant leftovers. Whatever you can come up with. Make it easy on yourself.

We will print up some info and include it in your goodie bag. Please remember this: this is an informal gathering, nothing is ever required except that you have a good time.

More details later..............

John

John, sorry we won't be able to make this event. Not sure what we will miss the most: the possum toss, everyone barkin' at the moon, or the hitching seminar, but I am certain it will be a fun time had by all!! Have fun - be safe!

Thanks Brad, we would love to have you and Karen join us....maybe next March??

And yep, anyone can talk about hitches, tires, filiform, etc, but how many get to participate in a real possum toss??

I'm thinking we may invent a new national pastime with the Possum toss, based on that ball on a chain thing those big guys toss at the Highland Games.

Let the games begin...........

Well we have the final count for the invasion from the North. There will be 4 "yanks" headed your way. My 3 young adult kids are budding Airstream enthusiasts who hope to have their own Airstreams some day. My son has even polished our "78" Ambassador...think he is laying claim to it. We're all looking forward to a great weekend!

Excellant Bob, they can have first dibs at the greased possum chase.

Both of our sons grew up camping. We traveled all over 3 weeks each summer, covered all 48 states. Now, one has a humongus 4 slided condo 5th wheel, the other a '90 34' stream.. We camp together often and it just doesn't get any better. They would of course be at the Rally but scheduling conflicts got in the way. One is expecting our 2nd grandaughter any day now, the other is in final stages of moving into a new house. We are all hoping the grand gets here before the rally!!!!

Tell your crew to practice their possum catching skills.

Oh yea, he that catch it, skin it.

John

Possum Chasin

John we have our own vermin up North. And the head of the group lives less than 20 miles from us. Should we bring him along and some of his friends? They make good eating!

John, we are really getting excited now as the time gets closer. We have already packed a bunch of firewood in the truck. Our son will be coming with us. He has wanted to come since seeing last year's video! I think it was all the liquor bottles in varying degrees of "fullness" that got him interested! See you soon.

Hi all. The little grand girls have released us from attendance at the last few volleyball tourneys, so we are heading your way for the rally. Really looking forward to meeting everyone. Arriving Friday (Patty says she Loves possums.."What? We're going to EAT them?)

What's happened to Kingfisher24? They assigned us site 60, the one he mentioned earlier in the thread....
