Received my teak mat today. It fits perfectly! Very nice quality.

I contacted Teakworks4u to see if they had a template for a Grand Tour, but they didn't. So I made a template and sent it to them. So if you own a GT and want the mat, they'll have the template for it. You're welcome Attachment 243561

I like that neon pink template

Thanks! That was all I could find. Amber at Teakworks4u appreciated the color contrast.

I wouldn't fit too well with the teak mat so followed Interblog's lead and went to HD. Bought the same anti-fatigue mat and cut it to fit. Easily cut with razor knife with brand new blade and a framing square for a straight edge.

Those teak mats are gorgeous, but if I'm going to put that kind of money into our Interstate, I'm inclined to spend it somewhere else. Like on more Dynamat noise insulation, perhaps.

This past weekend we had our first official boondock of the season (I am soooo glad that the heat has finally passed and we can start traveling again!!). It was the first time I had used the anti-fatigue mat in the wet bath and it was a big improvement in terms of the feel. White ceiling, white walls, white floor... before the mat, the wet bath looked like the proverbial padded cell. I felt like I should write a confined space entry permit before going in there because it didn't feel like it was made for human occupation. Now with the mat, there is visual contrast and space definition, and it's a small but appreciated quality of life improvement, as well as protecting the floor.

Knowing that this is the kind of experience that we sign up for when we voluntarily choose a Class B, I still like to poke a bit of fun at both it and myself. And fortunately the internet abounds with digital resources for creating that kind of fun.

The wet bath has always reminded me of a rubber room, albeit one that is so small that no straightjacket is required.

And the analogies don't stop there. Perhaps I have an overactive imagination because the primary reason why we chose an Airstream over other Class B's is that several of the competing models look like caskets to me. I don't really care what the Airstream design premium is - I simply cannot drive around feeling like I'm in a casket. I'm too young to be put in the ground.
