I have posted an image (photo section-Argosy trailers) of a WD hitch which I think is a Reese. It's spec'd to 1000 tongue weight & 12K gross trailer weight, so my 22ft argosy is well within.
It's on Craigslist for $100. Is it worth my while?

If it's the one I saw with the round bars, yes it will work, but is a little on the heavy duty side. That's a good price.

Great thanks. I had 24 hrs to make up my mind. My research showed them at nearly $500 retail.

If I am correct the only sway control offered with the Draw Tight round bar system is the Reese flat plate. It is a very poor mechanical design that requires you to unhook it before you back up. Lots of fun in the rain. Does the system you are looking at even have a sway control component?
If you are new do more homework.

There is school of thought, with quite a few proponents, that says that the stiffness of the heavier bars will allow excess road shock to transfer to the trailer from the TV causing damage to the structure of the trailer. This has been said about Airstreams, but I do not know enough about Argosy construction to guess how well it carries over.
I tow a large Airstream with bars that are rated at 14,000 #, when the trailer GVW is 10,000 Lbs. The bars are round tapered like those in your photo. MY TV is a stiff suspension 3/4 ton pickup. I have not had any damage, but maybe I'm lucky.

Thanks.
The same guy had an equalizer brand rated at 400lb tongue and 4000lb trailer.
That's a bit light for my argosy.

"Set Up Right"
Upgrading from a Reese friction to dual cam. I keep hearing "if it's set up right". So that I can be sure the dealer does it right, what should I look for?
