I'm glad my Discovery is older and has a standard receiver hitch. I started to buy a newer LR3 with that crazy hitch setup but that was one of negative points that changed my mind.

It's also amazing how many people who profess to this statement also don't own an Airstream or have never towed with an SUV.

Towing with a Range Rover Sport

What about the new Land Rover Discovery Sport as a tow vehicle. Their info is a bit confusing as they list the max tow rating at 4409# yet on the page showing the hitch receiver they note "fixed position tow bar tows a trailer up to 5511# load capacity". Why the discrepancy? And can I tow a airstream 22fb with it. ( base weight 3600#, loaded weight max rating 4500#). Perhaps Andrew T has an opinion?
