how to weigh the As from the OBD2 port

Interesting gadget! Quite a deal at $99 if it works. Would be very interested in hearing back from you after you've used it, maybe comparing its results to CAT scale readings.
Explanation of function from the product page:
Gross combined weight is determined using drive force & acceleration.
Torque converter slip is used to calculate drive force as the vehicle takes off. An accelerometer onboard HaulGauge detects how quickly the vehicle takes off.
A calibration unique to the powertrain is selected from our database using the VIN. If a calibration is not found, the app will guide the user through a short calibration procedure.

Interesting to see a video of product.
I wonder if they included us manual trans TV guys in their product cause a clutch for a manual doesn’t have a torque converter slip component.
Yes my TV is a 6 spd manual.

We got one of the Haul Gauge units about a month ago. So far, we have used only on the tow vehicle. The weight that it gives us for the tow vehicle is spot on to the Cat Scale weight. In several weeks will be hooking up Lucy and heading for Alaska. I will give a full report of its performance while on this trip.

Contact the company direct at HaulGauge.com. I've found them to be very responsive to questions and issues. I'm sure you will get an answer pretty quickly.
I've had HaulGauge for about 6 months and found it works well. I had several issues (early user) and the company founder got back to me within a day. We worked through the issues (HG made some software fixes) and he was open to suggestions. I really wish other companies were as responsive.

Had mine for about a month now. Measured truck weight, payload weight, tongue weight, and total weight of trailer and TV. Seems quite accurate. Haven't done weight distribution yet, but that's the next application to play with.
Emailed the company with some questions before and after purchase and found them to be very helpful.

This item posted on FB a few months ago... Thought it look very promising, so I looked at the info on it and it has known issues for the Tundra. I'll look more seriously when the Tundra issues have been corrected. 😶

HaulGauge released an app software update a few days ago addressing Toyota issues. From the app-
"-Major improvements in accuracy with the weigh feature for all vehicles, especially Toyotas. IMPORTANT: All current users using HaulGauge with a Toyota vehicle, please go to Settings, and then click CHANGE VEHICLE, and select OK. This will take you through the process of reconnecting to your HaulGauge, which will also download the new calibration for your Toyota vehicle."

One of the important things to do is make sure you review the settings for the app and adjust them to suit your specifics. Example: I have a 2" front lift on our F-150 which changes the manufactures specs and thus throws off the payload figures.
We use the app to maintain balance to the complete rig and find it helpful. At the same time we also do "due diligence".
