I screwed up on the 1st one and thanks to Peter, we have another chance of getting a better picture.
So if you all would be kind enough to poll your main style of tow vehicle, we would all be thankful!

I thought that about the first poll, but I didn't want to say anything. The brand mix is available on one of your previous polls.
I think this choice of items gives a lot better picture of what folks are actually using out there.

Texas. too!
We had 87 degrees on Tuesday. Tonight is to be in the teens. even at that, the weather guessers say the main bullet missed us because the jet stream pushed it to the east.
Our situation tomorrow is that the clouds are being pinned in here and will prevent us getting any great amount of solar heating tomorrow. The only good of the clouds is that they will keep tomorrow night reasonably warm. Sunday will be a lot warmer yrt and Monday will be clear and back in the 60s.
The peach growers around here love this. It is giving them the chilling hours that they need to set a big crop.

No more airstreams at the mo
John,
Not looking for any at the moment, just working on my new towing unit, I am fed up with renting or borrowing trucks.
just up-loaded some pictures of it, i will loose the orange stripe !!

I will post photo's as I go along.
The ambulance body, took some removing, I have donated it to the guy who helped me, he's going to use it as a workshop, with lockers to store his tools.
I could not have done it without him, so where both happy.

It's pretty close between pickup's and large SUV's. I thought pickup's were going to really out number the rest.

SUV vs Pickup
I think if all the members of WBCCI would vote, large SUVs would rule. By and large though, these folks do not participate in the forums. Pickups are more numerous among the younger owners that do participate in the forums and that probably skews the vote.

towing vehicle
Pulling a '70 23' Land Yacht. Right now I use a 3/4 ton chevy ext cab. I have used a dodge dakota club cab with a 318cc in it, without problems. Also pulled with a dodge 1/2 ton ext cab and chevy suburban with a 350cc. So far the best puller is the current 3/4 ton with the 410 rear end. The problem is the price of gas right now in Texas averages 1.75 per gallon. I would like to look at getting a vintage expedition type vehicle to pull the trailer and have enough room for passangers. I was looking all the way from a 1970 Bronco to a 1975 Series III Land Rover. The problem I guess I would have is length. Any suggestions?

I will be towing with my 1957 imperial
I just had to buy an airstream an old 50's car with fins and the sice of an aircraftcarrier is NOT looking good with a 12 ft european trailor behind it

Tow vehicle ....
My present tow vehicle is an Airstream B-190
Ford 1 ton chassis with 460 cu. in (7.5 liter) motor.
Lots of power and very comfortable except in a strong cross wind.

I tow with what many people use as a towed, a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is a 99 with V-8 and towing package. Trailer is a 2002 25ft Safari C. With real LT tires on the Cherokee, it tows fine. Fuel mileage is 10-11 when towing, and up to 20 solo. If I could tow with something smaller, I would.

Towing my 75 Trade Wind with a dark blue and chrome Cadillac brings the old folks out at some of the parks at which I stop. Nostalgia, I guess. They say its like the old days when the sedans were big enough to handle the job. The car looks good with the airstream too.

We tow our 2004 16ft ccd Bambi with a 2003 Chev. S10. With the 4.3v6-auto this is a perfect match for us. While I haven't tryed it I think this truck would handle a 19ft. The S10 is a thing of the past now replaced with the "Colorado " and an inline 5 cylinder. Would be interested in hearing how it does with a small trailer. --Pieman
