Roger, Hello and thanks for your imput!, I agree with what you have said. I have a 99 TACOMA Prerunner TRD- 190hp- 220 ft-lb torque 5000lb tow pac/rating. With 3.4 V6 that I have,I am woundering if there is any difference between the 3.4i that you mention? The trailer I am looking to get is the Minuet 20. Weight 2450 from my info, so if I add 1000lb = 3450lb. If I add 1500lb = 3950. Witch I think will be possible with my TV, or do I have enough reserve? I welcome your opinions! Thank You, Robert. HI,
I too, own a Tacoma 2006 TRD 4-door and am looking for a 19' Bambi. I have been in touch with a forum member in the NW who tows a 25' Safari with his Tacoma. I saw a pic on the forums of his truck/trailer and asked him did I see this correctly. Yup. He said he had no problems, and to be careful. (I can find his name if you'd like to see the pics yourself.) RoadRuler tows a 73 23' Safari with a Pathfinder (I think that's right), and has told me the key to this whole this is getting the truck/trailer set up correctly with the WD/anti-sway hitch system. Also, don't be in a hurry, as TBRich said earlier. Good luck looking for your AS. I've narrowed my choice now, and just need to find it. :-)

FWIW, I think a Minuet 20 would be just about perfect behind a Tacoma, particularly if it's the extended cab version. A longer wheelbase is always more desireable in a lighter truck for towing. Your 3.4l is the same engine I have in my '02 Tundra. The rear ends and trannys would probably be different, but if your Tacoma is rated at 5000 lbs, a Minuet 20 should be well within your capacity. I'd get a weight distributing hitch and a Prodigy or P3 brake controller.

Roger
