Kitchen Sink

We took are kitchen sink to be refinished another color. The metal trim had started coming off and of course it had to be removed for the refinishing. Can anyone tell me how to attach it back to the sink? Or do I just put plumber's putty between? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Plumber's putty works. It will squeeze out as you tighten the screws holding the sink in. About a pencil thick roll all around the sink and around the outside of the rim (metal strip) should seal.
