Airstream for Science Channel/Discovery

I was contacted by the Science Channel/Discovery - or rather a production company working for them - about using an Airstream for a show. They are looking for a small Bambi'ish sized trailer that does not have a bathroom in it or a shower to be used for filming an episode of the show "Stuck with Hackett". They are filming in the Castiac area in California and need it on short order - next Monday. They have little to no budget for it (that is something you can arrange if you are interested).

Filming will be for 4 days. if this seems like something you would like to help with, PM me your phone number and I will forward to the production company. They will contact you for all final arrangements.

Donate the use of your Airstream so they can make money on a film? What a deal.

I got $500 to let an ad agency use our Bambi for a commercial (exterior only) and it was a 5 hr shoot and only 8 miles from home. I'd worry about shooting inside. They like to make changes to improve the shot.

Ventport - that's the sprit. It isn't always about money, it's about fun. I have lent mine for a photo shoot. Didn't make a dime. Now my Buttercup is in a published magazine and that's pretty cool ( I got 6 copies). Besides, I didn't say donate, I said little to no budget. It is up to whomever offers to help to negotiate the terms of compensation.
If I were near the area I'd do it for free and take a credit. Then I would record the program and burn it to a disc. I would then put that disc in the scrap book my wife has been making since we first picked up our trailer. That would be worth more then a few dollar I might get.
When I get to my deathbed, looking through that scrapbook, I won't be thinking about about the dollars I made off science channel.

They do realize that finding an Airstream with no bathroom is going to be difficult at best right? Kind of an odd request on such short notice.

There's a quirky little '59er near Sacramento on ebay right now.

Maybe Discovery could contact the seller?

No bathroom, no shower.

I spoke with them, but my Liner is too big. Filming has been pushed back to April 4-11, 2011.

I told them that but I think they were more interested in having an Airstream there because they look so cool. I get the impression that they can fudge the storyline if they really need to.
