My new (to me) Airstream

1979 31'

Assuming this will make the trip to home and then up to north, this will be my new camp. The curtains gotta go, but it's clean, the furnace works, and we'll see how the plumbing is once I get it to my house.

That's a nice looking rig. The inside looks great and I agree, the curtains have got to go. Good luck with your new purchase.

Congratulations on your new Airstream. Looks like a real nice unit. Where is up North?

It does look good for its age. With it sagging under the weight of all the "For Sale" signs, do you think they were serious about selling it?

Going to Wellston, MI. One tire was cracked real bad so I took the tire and rim and got a new one. I also bought a second tire of the same size and brand to put on the oposite side of the axle when I get home. These are D rated tires and should really carry the load.

Looks like a very well loved Airstream. No one will believe the age on that coach when you tell them. Have fun.

So how hard is it to reupolster the ugly green side cushions next to the middle beds?

You can use the search feature found on the top bar menu entering some key words for the topic to find quite a lot of discussion about how owners have replaced those cushions. While we don't have those, I think they are important to keep the cold of the aluminum exterior from creeping through when you are sleeping. Happy camping!

That's a very pretty trailer. Congratulations. The second picture down clearly shows the Pagoda style roof, a rare feature which must have been an optional extra for that model.

It sorta reminds me of my old trailer "olive". don't know what they were thinking when they put those curtains in but it must have been a good idea at the time. Fortunately they can be replaced. Your new trailer is clean and that is very important and yeahhhh you have a tub. What more could you ask.
Good Luck!!

Looks Good

Welcome aboard. I think we all have found something in our new to us trailers that has to go, for us we had to have the front gaucho re- covered and quick. At least yours is a solid green, ours was a blue of some kind with these ugly pink flowers. I admit the curtains have to go!!
